At EHD, we believe that proper INSTRUCTION, TECHNIQUE, and REPETITION, along with our creative teaching methods, are the key towards each player’s overall development. Our staff is committed to ensuring that all players receive detailed individual instruction during all programs to get the maximum learning experience allowing them to leave our camp feeling positive and confident. The “APEX” Defenseman Camp

The Apex camp is a must for any defenseman serious about taking their game to the next level.

Our 8 week long progression Clinic will reinforce all aspects of the defenseman position backwards skating techniques, puck handling, passing and shooting, as well as battle drills. Skill mastery demands individual attention. For each session we strive to maintain a ratio of 1 coach for every 8 players

EHD April Vacation Spring Clinics

Session A:

  • Power Skating * Over Speed * Edge Control
  • April 25 & 26th: Tuesday & Wednesday 1:30 pm – 2:20 pm
  • Skating requires a lot of practice and is more important than all other hockey skills.
  • It must be focused on individually to show significant improvement.
  • Power skating is designed to improve the skating ability of hockey players of all ages.

Session B:

  • Stick Handling * Scoring * Puck Control
  • April 25 & 26th: Tuesday & Wednesday 2:45 pm—3:35 pm
  • The focus of this clinic is improving puck control, passing and shooting.
  • Players will improve puck control through fast paced specifically designed drills.

COST

Body contact is a key part of this fast and physical game. The Rinks At Exeter is proud to announce 2016-2017 Winter Hockey Clinics. These specialty clinics are a great way to work on your skills during the season. This two-day camp is operated by some of the top hockey professionals in the area.

Spring/ Summer 2017 “EHD” Specialty Clinic Series

The Rinks at Exeter is pleased to offer

A Spring/Summer skill development clinic series for Mites thru Bantams and girls U-10 thru U-14 playing levels.

Each program focuses on the importance of mastering skills through proper instruction, repetition, intensity and most importantly, consistent practice. Unlike most summer development options that try to improve players over a 5-7 day period. Our specialized clinics run weekly ensuring that skills are introduced and mastered through consistent practice over an extended period of time.

Coaching Staff

  • Kurt Mallett – Kurt played 4 yrs of collegiate hockey, where he earned the honor of All American his senior year. Kurt also played 6 yrs of professional hockey between the ECHL & IHL, before retiring to be a professional coach. Kurt is a skills expert who has developed and run skill sessions for several organizations over the last 10 years. He has established a reputation for significantly improving player skills through an innovative, fast pace skills progression program.
  • Matt Pinchevsky – Matt Pinchevsky started his career as a player in Pembroke Pines, Florida, where he grew up. When local options ran out, Matt attended and played at Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Minnesota for his high school years. Junior and College hockey in Massachusetts took Matt through earning a degree from Curry College. Matt was one of the original builders of the Selects Hockey Academy in Connecticut, running the skill development training for the entire program. After Connecticut, Matt has been a coach for East Coast Selects Q since 2011, where he has coached and developed some of the top talent in the Quebec, Maritimes, and New England region from 1998’s-2004’s. Coach Pinch (as his students/players refer to him,) is a passionate hockey mind that has a love for teaching. The cultures that are established with his teams and students are very beneficial and help foster successful habits to carry through the game/life.
  • Bill McCreary – Bill currently coaches the Seacoast Spartans U18 team where he recently lead the Spartans to a New Hampshire State Championship, at the U18 Tier I level. Bill also works with the NHL Alumni Association, as a Mentor in their Breakaway Program. This program is responsible for providing guidance to former NHL players that have retired from the game of Hockey. Developing the body, the mind, and the skills of the athlete is where Bill prides himself as a Coach. This has allowed Bill to help countless amounts of players onto premier programs, at various age groups. Bill has helped kids develop into programs such as: Shattuck St. Mary’s (Prep School), University of Vermont (NCAA Div. I), Springfield Jr. Blues (NAHL), Witchita Falls (NAHL), Keystone Ice Miners (NAHL) , UMASS Boston (NCAA Div. III), Worcester State (NCAA Div. III), Becker (NCAA Div III), IHC Pisek (Czech Pro League), Watertown Wolves (FHL), Huntsville Havoc (SPHL), Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL), USA National Development Program, University of Michigan (NCAA Div. I) and countless other top programs.
  • Preston Callander – Preston’s hockey knowledge and hardworking style of play translates to his expert teaching and coaching skills. As a former UNH hockey captain, Preston lead the Wildcats to 2 Hockey East Championships and 2 Frozen Four appearances. Preston also played 4yrs of Professional Hockey with a 3 year stint in the German Elite League and 1 season in the ECHL with the Florida Ever blades. We are excited is excited to bring his expertise of skating and stride development to Elite Hockey Development “EHD”.
