Twelve Adult Sled Hockey Teams in Two divisions from the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast will be competing in the Annual Sports4Life Sled Hockey Classic, March 5-6, at The Rinks At Exeter in Exeter, NH. The Classic is Presented by Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers and is sponsored by the Sports4Life Foundation, Exeter Hospital, C.P. Berry Construction, and ABC Medical. It will feature past, present, and future Male/Female Paralympic Athletes and teammates. Admission to all games is FREE.

The Adult A Division will have the top two teams go on to compete at USA Hockey’s Sled Hockey National Championship in Detroit, MI. The Adult B Division is in its second season and the teams will be competing for their own weekend championship. The league’s athletes are both male and female, ages 10-60 yrs old. Most athletes have some type of mobility impairment and are of many ethnic backgrounds. Approximately 22% of the athletes are Disabled Veterans who have been recently injured while serving our country.

The NESHL is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2005 as a means for regional Sled Hockey teams to engage in competitive, sportsmanlike hockey. The NESHL is the first-ever organized, multi-state, adult sled hockey league in the United States with teams and athletes coming from Maine to Maryland. The NESHL continuously looks to solicit new players and to further the awareness of Sled Hockey, and people with disabilities.

The mission statement of the NESHL is “to provide an environment where individuals, with and without disabilities, can develop as athletes, leaders, and community members through a competitive Sled Hockey league that emphasizes commitment, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
